For some, especially Verizon customers and aficionados, it should already be no secret by now: Big Red will officially take the wraps off the much anticipated Motorola Droid smartphones, which it billed Droid Turbo 2 and the Droid MAXX 2. A newly leaked photo, however, makes fans get even more excited, as it reveals the company is planning to offer Moto Maker customization options.

Not so long ago, quite a few leaks and a teaser from Verizon surfaced, suggesting the Motorola Droid 2 will be equipped with a shatterproof display.

A photo shared to Chinese microblogging network Weibo showcased (via G for Games) seven various potential back panels the Droid Turbo 2 has to offer to its customers starting next week.

This smartphone is purportedly designed to launch with Moto Maker personalization service support, which is why it should be no surprise customers will have to pick their chosen options.

Judging from the leaked photo, it seems like customers will be able to select from four different woven nylon/plastic choices in red, black, gray and blue. Buyers will also have three more leather options in brown, black and tan.

It is worth noting the Droid logo at the bottom seems to confirm the covers have been specially built for Verizon's model.

With the different materials and colors the Droid Turbo 2 has in store, a possibility exists this smartphone may entice a much wider audience, even if it will only be available on Verizon's network.

Specifications

Rumors indicate that the terminal will come with Moto X Style-grade hardware, which includes a QHD display.

The Droid Turbo 2 will also reportedly tout a Snapdragon 810 SoC, 32 or 64 GB of storage, 3 GB of RAM and a 3,760 mAh battery.

This new Droid may also come with a shatterproof 5.4-inch Quad HD display and a 21-megapixel rear shooter.

It is also believed customers will be given the freedom to personalize a few more details, which include highlights, front panel color and customized engraving.

Verizon's huge event is slated to kick off this coming week, particularly on Tuesday, Oct. 27.
