The "Limitless" television series is proving to be just exactly what its title suggests. CBS announced on Oct. 23 that it ordered 9 more episodes of the series, turning it into a full-season, 22-episode show.

"Limitless" is a follow-up to the 2011 film of the same title with Bradley Cooper as the lead actor. The series stars Jake McDorman as Brian Finch. He comes across NZT, the same drug that enhanced Cooper's abilities in the film, leading the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to hire him to solve complex cases.

Bradley Cooper, a producer for the show, tied up the film and series when he appeared on the series pilot. Cooper also reappears in the series' sixth episode, which will be televised on Oct. 27. The Academy Award nominee will reprise his role as Senator Edward Morra. His character will offer Finch a reprieve from the side effects of the NZT drug in exchange for a high price as he reveals an alternative path for Finch. With the way things are going, it's evident that we'll be seeing more reappearances from Cooper in upcoming episodes or, if CBS grants it, in the next season.

"We're excited how Limitless continues to evolve creatively each week and stand out with its unique style of storytelling," CBS Entertainment Glen Geller said. "Limitless" is currently the number two most watched new series across platforms, reaching up to 11.2 million viewers and boasting a +79% audience increase with its rating for adults aged 18 to 49 experiencing a jump of +132% on its series premiere.

Also receiving an additional orders for six episodes is the medical drama "Code Black," which stars Marcia Gay Harden as Dr. Leanne Rorish. The show premiered a week after "Limitless."

"Limitless" also stars Jennifer Carpenter, Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio and Hill Harper.
