The Huawei-made Google Nexus 6P is one of the hottest smartphones of this year, but it seems it won't be shipping in India until November.

The Nexus 6P went up for preorder in the country a couple of weeks ago through Flipkart and Large Format Retail stores and was slated to start shipping on Oct. 21, which obviously did not happen. The handset apparently stirred great interest among consumers and the shipping dates have been pushed back due to overwhelming demand.

Eager fans in India still have a while to wait before getting their hands on the brand new Huawei Nexus 6P, as the handset will only start reaching customers early next month. Huawei has apparently confirmed that it will start shipping the Nexus 6P in the first week of November, but hasn't offered an exact launch date at this point.

"Our supply chain is working on priority to fulfill the demand and the smartphones will be shipped out in batches," said P. Sanjeev, Vice President of Sales at Huawei & Honor India, Consumer Business Group, as cited by Indian Express.

"The first batch of smartphones will be available in India starting first week of November. We are working closely with Flipkart and our retail partners on the availability of the smartphones to the Nexus 6P fans," he added.

As a reminder, the Huawei Nexus 6P went up for preorder in India at INR 39,999 (about $615) for the 32 GB model and INR 42,999 (roughly $660) for the higher-capacity 64 GB variant. At the time of writing, both the 32 GB and the 64 GB models of the Nexus 6P appear as out of stock on Flipkart.

The smartphone has already started shipping in the U.S. and received high praise from tech experts and consumers alike and is expected to be one of the most successful smartphones of the year.

The Huawei Nexus 6P made its debut alongside the LG Nexus 5X, arriving as the higher-end option and marking the first time that Google launched two Nexus smartphones at the same time.

Highlights of the Nexus 6P include a high-resolution QHD display with Gorilla Glass 4 protection, the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS on board out of the box, a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner that enables fingerprint authentication for Play Store purchases, and a sleek aluminum body.
