The much-rumored Samsung Galaxy View just popped up on U.S. retailer Adorama, complete with specs, images, price tag and preorder option.

While smartphones have become increasingly bigger, demand for tablets has decreased recently as more customers don't find it necessary to own both a phablet and a tablet. Samsung was the first one to push the boundaries between phones and tablets, and now it's again testing the limits when it comes to tablet size.

The upcoming Samsung Galaxy View is a huge tablet that looks more like a portable TV, boasting a massive 18.4-inch display. Leaks and rumors regarding this Galaxy View device have been making rounds for quite some time and a retail listing now reveals virtually everything about the tablet before its official unveiling.

The listing on Adorama confirms most of the previously leaked specifications and offers a better look at the device, posting several high-quality images. According to the retail listing, the Samsung Galaxy View does indeed come with a whopping 18.4-inch full HD TFT display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, a 1.6 GHz Exynos 7580 octa-core SoC under the hood (Adorama calls it "Carmen2"), 2 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal storage capacity expandable up to 128 GB via microSD, a 2.1-megapixel front camera and a hefty 5,700 mAh battery. The tablet will allegedly last for up to 8.5 hours of video playback on a single charge.

The Samsung Galaxy View will apparently be avilable in both Wi-Fi-only and Wi-Fi + Cellular (4G LTE) variants and will come with Android Lollipop on board (exact version not listed).

Due to its large size, the Galaxy View will be able to double as a mini TV that delivers a "PC like user experience," notes Adorama. Moreover, the tablet will sport a media interface designed to show relevant media recommendations on its lock screen. At the same time, the images on Adorama also show the Galaxy View with a large handle on its rear housing, allowing users to carry it around and place it on a counter top or a table for hands-free usage.

"The Samsung Galaxy View is TV reimagined for the streaming age. The 18.4-inch FHD large screen brings you a portable, touchable TV experience plus a bigger window to your favorite apps and content so you can do more, view more and play more. Enjoy the home theater experience - anywhere!" reads the description on Adorama.

The retailer is now taking pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy View, listing the tablet with a $599 price tag. The device will come in black and white color options, but Adorama seems to offer just the black model for now.
