Auto enthusiasts are used to seeing Ferraris rev up on a picturesque, wide-open road — if not a race track.

However, the last thing you'd expect to see one of the Italian supercars do is drift through the snow. This was all made possible via Red Bull's Snow Camp featuring the Ferrari F40 video, which the energy drink brand published on its YouTube account Wednesday.

"There have been snow films with cars before but nothing like this," director of the Red Bull short film Luke Huxham told Jalopnik.com. "AWD cars don't even register on the same level."

Seeing this beast on wheels tear through the snow might be proof of that latter statement, as the footage is good enough to leave you awestruck.

The red Ferrari F40 used in the video had special snow chains wrapped around the vehicle's carbon kevlar wheels, enabling it roar through the winter dust.

The most challenging part of the video, according to Huxham? Capturing good audio to complement the stunning visuals. In fact, Huxam called it the "real pain" in directing this video, with the constant need to adjust the tire chains, spelling that he had to "record bits of audio with the studless tires and overlay it during sections of the film to remove the horrible sound of the chains cutting into the carbon kevlar inner car wheel wells," according to Jalopnik.

Huxam used the vaunted Red Dragon camera for half of the filming, while also incorporating Sony's cine glass. If you have a pulse and don't feel the ferociousness of this vehicle ripping and drifting through the snow, you should consider a doctor's visit as soon as possible.

Watching the F40 charge up snowy slopes and drift along in this video more than dispels the notion that a supercar can't trudge through rugged winter terrain. All it needed was some chains for its tires. When you think about it, perhaps we shouldn't be too surprised.

After all, the F40 is a V8, pumping out nearly 500 horsepower with a top speed of just over 200 miles per hour. What's snow to a beast like that?
