Great news for all action-adventure survival game fans, as well as dinosaur lovers, out there.

The game developer Studio Wildcard has announced that it's bringing Ark: Survival of the Fittest to PS4 on July 19. The game was released a little more than a month ago as a standalone game on PC and has been positively received by fans everywhere.

Ark: Survival of the Fittest, a spinoff of the smash-hit, action-adventure survival game, Ark: Survival Evolved, becomes the first ever Multiplayer Online Survival Arena designed by Studio Wildcard.

The game takes place on a modified version of the Ark, the original map from Ark: Survival Evolved and requires players to build their own camp, fire and weapons to survive. In addition, players can also tame, train and feed dinosaurs, as well as other super creatures such as dragons, giant apes and brood mother, present in the game.

The objective of the game is quite simple - eliminate all other survivors before they can eliminate you. It's like The Hunger Games was set in the Jurassic Park. The game is popular for its epic battle scale, which pits up to 72 challengers to fight to the death until one "Tribe" survives.

The game allows Survivors to form up to six-person Tribes and fully customize the length of the game. The variable game configurations range from 30-minute quick play, to three-hour "epic wars." Players also have the option to choose which unofficial and official (ranked) servers to use.

The PS4 version of the game comes with new environments, creatures, weapons, traps, armor and other resources, which unlock as the game progresses.

Ark: Survival of the Fittest comes with complete matchmaking, invitational tournament and bonus reward features that make the game readily accessible to all players. On its blog, Sony announced that it is bringing The Survivor League to PS4 as well.

The Survivor League tracks top-ranked players in each game mode on a monthly basis, and display their ranking on the game's official website. Top-ranking players can qualify for cash rewards, game packs and special invites to future tournaments.
