The Google Nexus 5 is one of the best Android smartphones out there, and it's still being updated to this very day. If you're an enthusiast, then the Nexus 5 is a great phone to get. And if you're looking to grab the Android 7.1 operating system without having to buy a Google Pixel, then the Nexus 5 is a solid bet.

Developers have released the Euclidean ROM, which is based on the Android Nougat features found in the Google Pixel devices. The ROM is quite rich with features and should make a happy camper out of any Nexus 5 owner at any day of the week.

No dout you're interested in this ROM, and we're going to share how to download it and have it up and running on your device. It's not hard to do but the steps are very meticulous.

Initial Steps

First off, you'll need to download the USB drivers for your Nexus 5 on your computer. Go to Menu > Settings > Applications and activate USB debugging. Furthermore, make sure your Nexus 5 is rooted — but we shouldn't even be saying this in the first place.

Bear in mind, it would be wise to install a TWRP or CWM recovery tool just in case something goes wrong. Make sure you've backed up your software with the tools mentioned above.

Installing The Euclidean ROM

After securing your backup, connect the Nexus 5 to a PC using a USB cable. Copy the downloaded ROM files to the SD card, according to WCCFTECH. Remove the Nexus 5 from the computer and power it off. You now need to boot into recovery mode. To do this, press and hold the 1) Volume Up 2) Home and 3) Power buttons all at the same time.

It's now time to reset your device. Do this from the TWRP/CWM menu. Go to Wipe > Factory Reset, and you're all set to move on.

Finally, it's time to return to the recovery menu and hit the Install button. The next step is to search for the Euclidean ROM from the SD card where the firmware was copied. Confirm to kick start the installation and watch as Android 7.1 Nougat begins to power your Nexus 5.

After the installation is complete, restart the device and have fun using Android 7.1 Nougat.

It's the best version of Android and works well with the Google Pixel. However, there's no word at this time on how well it works with the Nexus 5.
