Microsoft has announced today the date and time of its E3 2017 briefing. Will it finally unveil the Xbox Project Scorpio?

The company posted a teaser on the official Xbox Twitter account telling gamers to "brace for the big news." The briefing of the Xbox One maker will happen on June 11, Sunday at 2:00 p.m. PDT at the Galen Center in Los Angeles. Historically, Microsoft holds its events on a Monday of the E3 week.

Whether Microsoft will unveil Project Scorpio or it will just be another conference to talk about the 4K-capable game console, the tweet adds to the excitement of the gaming world for upcoming Xbox console.

If there will be no unwrapping, the company will most likely give more details about the Project Scorpio specs, features, and release date.

Before the end of January, Xbox boss Phil Spencer tweeted that Project Scorpio unit is now working and running games.

Project Scorpio Specs

Microsoft announced Project Scorpio during E3 2016. It aims to release the next-gen Xbox console this holiday season.

In terms of Project Scorpio specs, Xbox claims it is the most powerful console ever built. It will offer true 4K gaming, 6 teraflops of power, 320 GB/s memory bandwidth, and 8 CPU cores. Given these specs, one can't help but think if you should skip Xbox One S or wait for this monster.

Project Scorpio Price

Microsoft has not revealed the price of Project Scorpio, but Spencer hinted of how much it could be. He described it as something that will not be cheap but not insanely expensive. Take note that the Xbox One S starts at $300 for its 500 GB iteration, while the 2 TB edition goes for $400.

The PlayStation 4 Pro sells for $400. The PS4 Pro delivers dynamic 4K gaming through enhanced resolution techniques. It also promises native 4K experience, meaning it allows output at native 2,160p resolution. Sony's potent video game console is already available, but Microsoft is reportedly not worried about PS4 Pro's early start.

The Electronic Entertainment Expo 2017 officially opens its gates on June 13. E3 is open to the public, but according to its policy, no one under 17 is permitted so you might be required to show an ID. Tickets are also selling out fast.

For now, follow Microsoft's advice. Brace for the big news (and start saving some money too for Project Scorpio).
