After the official announcement and a teaser video for Destiny 2, developer Bungie has released the reveal trailer for the upcoming sequel to the popular sci-fi shooter.

Several details have now also been confirmed for Destiny 2 through its preorder page, including the arrival of the game to the PC and its various special editions.

'Destiny 2' Reveal Trailer

The reveal trailer for Destiny 2 opens with a shot of The Traveler, which is in pretty bad shape, and a burning The Last City.

The video puts two prominent figures of the Destiny lore, Commander Zavala and Cayde-6, side by side as they try to inspire the Guardians with a speech before they face off against the attacking Red Legion, which is an elite Cabal army. It was also revealed that the prominent villain Destiny 2 is Ghaul, or Gary as Cayde-6 remembers him, and it is likely that he will be the ultimate raid boss in the sequel.

While Commander Zavala is able to rouse his audience into fighting alongside him to avenge the attack on The Last City, Cayde-6 falls well short but is able to get the soldiers on his side by claiming that "There will be a ton of loot!"

The reveal trailer also featured a scene of a lot of gear being destroyed, setting up the fact that Destiny 2 will have both old and new players starting out with a clean slate, as Destiny levels and gear will not be carried over to the sequel.

As with the teaser video for Destiny 2, Cayde-6 provides a shot of humor into the game, a fact that was sorely missing upon the launch of the first Destiny.

'Destiny 2' Details

Bungie has now opened preorders for Destiny 2, and a look at the available platforms for the title confirms previous rumors that it will be coming to the PC, unlike Destiny, which was only available on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360.

The standard edition of Destiny 2 carries a price tag of $59.99, but when bundled with the normally $34.99 Expansion Pass, the cost will only be $89.99. The Expansion Pass gives access to the first two add-ons that will be released for Destiny 2.

There is a Destiny 2 Digital Deluxe Edition for $99.99 that includes the Expansion Pass and three digital items, namely a legendary emote, a legendary sword, and an emblem of the Cabal. There is also a GameStop-exclusive Limited Edition, also for $99.99, which includes all the contents of the Digital Deluxe Edition but will come with a Steelbook case, a Cabal-designed box, and four physical items.

Lastly, there is a Destiny 2 Collector's Edition for $249.99 that comes with all the inclusions from the other versions, along with a Frontier Kit that contains a solar-powered USB charger with a built-in light, a solar blanket, and a paracord, and a Frontier Bag.

Customers who will preorder any version of Destiny 2 will be able to receive early access to the game's beta. In addition, PlayStation 4 gamers will be able to receive exclusive content that will only be made available on other platforms after a year of the game's release.

'Destiny 2' Release Date

The Destiny 2 release date has been revealed to be Sept. 8, with the over five-month wait for the highly anticipated game now commencing for gamers.

The beta for Destiny 2, however, will launch in the summer, with the first gameplay footage to be released on May 18 through a livestream event.
