Valve's Steam Deck now faces a new issue despite only releasing earlier this week for those that have preordered the portable console now. It meets the Joystick Drift issue, which means that the controller gets the infamous phantom moves where the in-game character moves on its own, triggered by the joystick, without anyone controlling it.

The problem is known for most modern consoles, including the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and more.

Different Redditors from the Steam Deck community have already addressed this issue online, saying that their gaming consoles experience the Joystick drift issue. The Valve console is only three days old since its release on the last day of February, but users are already complaining about the social networking site regarding the issue.

One user said that their Steam Deck console poses a problem on the right stick of the device, and this has been the case for the complaints about users. The owners claimed that this manifested after a series of "light use" on the gaming device, meaning that it showed several problems despite not yet punishing controls for the gaming device.

The Stream Deck's early reviews before it went to the public release are excellent and worth it. However, the new developments after its public release already show issues that may be something that would hinder a gamer from purchasing the console from Valve.

Nevertheless, the public should also weigh in on Valve's statement regarding this, and there are still none as of this writing.

JoyCon, Controller Drift Issues

The dawn of the controller gaming era also posed problems for gamers as they exhibited different issues like connectivity, latency, wireless and wired features, and lastly, the drifting issues. Not all consoles are perfect and problem-free, as some pose problems in their devices, peripherals, and other elements that affect their gaming.

One of the most popular issues in gaming consoles is the Joy-Con Drift of the Nintendo Switch, which still does not have its fix until now from the gaming company. There have been different complaints about the self-moving characters that point to specific problems of the joystick, and the portable console's infamous problems caused its reactions from gamers to be extreme.

However, other problems and concerns consoles include overheating problems (case in point, the PlayStation), bricking issues, unresponsiveness, malware, and more.

Consoles are not perfect, but they have to be well-adept to adhere to different extremities and conditions as their sole purpose is to run games and give an experience to gamers like no other. The Joystick Issue of the Steam Deck maybe early on its release stage, and it may be something that Valve would address via a statement, firmware update, or a recall for its hardware.
