With more and more people getting excited for the next handheld console after the Nintendo Switch, a lot of gamers are still wondering what type of games can run on the device. With that, Steam released a list of its newest games that have been Steam Deck verified.

Steam Deck Released a List of the Newest Verified Games

When a game is Steam Deck verified, what it basically means is that the it can finally run on Steam's new device. Quite interestingly, the list of the newest verified games was posted on the Steam Deck website instead of just the original Steam website.

Another thing important to take note of is that there is still already an indication on the official Steam store that the games are playable on the Steam Deck.

As an example can be seen with "Elden Ring," which has just recently been verified on Steam Deck.

Where to Find the Steam Deck Compatibility Indicator on the Steam Website

When looking at the Elden Ring page on Steam, do your search using CTRL + F "steam deck." A highlighted part of the website indicates that the game has "STEAM DECK COMPATIBILITY" located under the Languages section to the right of the website.

An official post on the Steam Deck website has announced the newest Steam Deck verified games. As indicated on the website, "Valve is reviewing the entire Steam catalog on Deck" meaning an official list of Steam Deck verified games could come to the website soon.

Four Categories for the Different Steam Games

According to the website, there are currently still four categories for the Steam game list catalog. The first is Verified, which pertain to the games are playable on the Steam Deck.

The second is Playable, which means thatalthough the game can be played, it would still require a few tweaks from its users.

The third category is Unsupported. This means that the games are not yet playable on the Steam Deck. It should be noted that there is also no assurance that some of these games will ever be playable on Valve's handheld device.

The fourth category announced by SteamDeck is the "Unknown" or basically games that have not been tested for compatibility.

An Easier Way to Check the List of Games Available on the Steam Deck

A note was indicated for the second option, Playable, detailing that the games within this category would still need its users to "manually select a community controller configuration, needing to use the touchscreen to navigate a launcher, etc."

An easier way to check which games are playable on the Steam Deck, however, is to check the Steam Deck's Library itself instead of the website.

This method, however, could be disadvantageous to those still contemplating whether or not to purchase the Steam Deck and are still checking the list of games compatible. This because they do not having access to the Library within the device itself.
