Tesla is currently on a hiring spree in Thailand as it expands its EV market in Southeast Asia.

So far, we know that Tesla already has several stations and manufacturing plants across North America and Europe. However, if it wants to reach out to more clients, it should also expand its service to another continent.

The competition in the EV market remains stiff as the Elon Musk-owned firm is competing with other luxury car brands, including Ford, GM, Volkswagen, Toyota, and more.

Last time, Tesla said that it had plans to invade the Indian market for a change. Unfortunately, its efforts were wasted since negotiations remained unclear even at this moment.

Electrek said in its article that the market team of the automaker is currently looking for a fresh spot outside NA and Europe. Instead of India, the Texas-based automotive company wants to settle in Southeast Asia this time, particularly in Thailand.

The publication learned that the company has completed its filing for product sale in the said region. This would mean that Tesla is now ready to enter a new market soon.

Tesla Opens Jobs in Thailand

In the same report, the EV maker is reportedly hiring new staff for its new office in Bangkok. 16 job openings are currently awaiting potential employees.

They will be assigned to manage the Tesla Center in Thailand's capital city. The following are the available managerial positions.

  • Consumer Engagement Manager
  • Senior Accountant
  • Public Policy & Business Development Manager
  • Senior Recruiter

Additionally, there's a Supercharger map that hints at the staff required to handle the charging stations. As such, Tesla needs a :

  • Charging Lead - Charging Infrastructure
  • Home Charging Developer

This year, the automaker expects that car sales in Thailand will be boosted. With that in mind, Tesla says that it could bring up to 900,000 units to the country.

In other news, the viral interview of Elon Musk about crypto was uploaded to the YouTube channel of the South Korean government. It was discovered that the channel got hacked and renamed SpaceX Invest.

The authorities said that the unidentified threat actors had taken over the government's official YT channel last Saturday, Sept. 3.

After four hours, the account was reportedly retrieved since rebranding.
