Apple Watch Ultra has finally rolled out the capability to extend its battery life longer than the usual duration. The newest smartwatch can last up to 60 hours on just one charge.

Unlike any other previous Apple smartwatches, the Ultra model excels in having the best quality when it comes to batteries. Back then, the Cupertino giant touted that the Apple Watch Series 4 and other latest models could go on for up to 36 hours of normal use.

If you want to extend the battery life of your Apple Watch Ultra to 60 hours, here's what you need to know.

Using your smartwatch all day is a relief for users who want to test the durability of the product. Having a decent battery would suffice for that, but there are other tricks that can extend the battery life of your wearable.

With that, the iPhone maker finally introduced the low-power settings for the Apple Watch Ultra. This is crucial to the smartwatch since it's responsible for extending its battery span for up to 60 hours.

Following this improvement, Apple launched the watchOS 9.1 for the Ultra models. To update the software on your smartwatch, MacRumors wrote that you should head to General, then Software Update.

After that, wait for a few minutes for the update to pop out, then download and install it right away. Make sure that your smartwatch has at least 50% for the update to push through.

How to Achieve 60-Hour Battery Life on Apple Watch Ultra

Before your smartwatch reaches a 60-hour battery life, its workout settings should be activated first. This is only applicable to Apple Watch Series 8 and the Apple Watch SE (2nd gen).

To get started, here are the steps you need to follow.

  1. Open the Settings app from your Apple Watch Ultra.
  2. Scroll down until you see Workout. Click it.
  3. Toggle on the Low Power Mode switch to enable it.
  4. Finally, do the same thing with the Fewer GPS and Heart Rate Readings. You can find it just below "During Low Power Mode."

After finishing this setup, your Watch Ultra's battery life will be preserved for some tasks to save power from its battery. Apple says that the feature works by decreasing the heart rate and GPS readings.

In doing so, a low-power setting can also turn off all the notifications and other alerts from your smartwatch. To fully achieve the 60 hours of battery life, there's also a need to activate the Low Power Mode outside the workouts.
