The release of the Samsung Galaxy Z Folds3 has created a lot of buzz with its folding screen features, but reports of cracking screens have overshadowed that hype. A growing number of users have experienced their displays breaking and cracking even though they haven't done anything to cause bodily damage.

As we reported earlier, users are randomly experiencing cracked screens, and so far, Samsung has yet to reply.

Excessive Cost of Repairing Cracked Inner Display Screen

According to the story by Giz China, this problem can be extremely costly since the one-year warranty offered with the phone is usually over when the users encounter the issue. Images issued by PhoneArena revealed a heartbreaking picture of a user whose phone had developed a crack in the middle of the internal display.

Despite still being under the payment plan for the device, the estimated repair costs of the screen reach $800, roughly 73% of the phone's initial price. At this point, no clear answer has been given for what is causing the screens to crack, but users speculate that it could be a manufacturing defect.

Reddit User's Report of Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 Durability Issues

The official stance from Samsung is that these issues are isolated cases. Fans will have to wait to see what the electronics giant does to appease the dissatisfied customers. The recent report by a Reddit user about their Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 has raised concerns about the device's durability.

The user, Snoo, claimed to have handled his device with care, only opening the phone a maximum of 2-3 times a week, yet after 15 months of ownership, the device's internal screen cracked along the vertical axis where the phone opens.

The Risk of Cracking for the High-Priced Galaxy Z Fold 3

Given the hefty price tag of the Galaxy Z Fold 3, one of Samsung's more expensive phones, many people are worried about the device's reputation and whether it is worth investing in.

The company is working hard to make the device durable and reliable. While this specific incident could be an anomaly, it is important to consider whether the potential risk of cracking is worth the hefty cost.

$800 Repair Fee for a Hairline Crack Along the Fold Line

Samsung has yet to comment on the reported incident; however, according to Snoo, he can no longer use the device with its broken screen. This calls for further investigation to understand why such a random incident occurred and whether concerned consumers avoid it.

One user reported that his phone had acquired a hairline crack along its fold line, although he had handled it very carefully and rarely opened it. To make matters worse, a local service center quoted him a much higher repair fee than a regular screen replacement - a whopping $800, as also announced by Ixbt.
