Tesla has reduced the price of the CCS Combo adapter this week to just $175. EV owners should grab this offer for a steal deal.

According to Electrek on Saturday, Feb. 18, the CCS Combo adapter of Tesla displayed a price slash from its original price of $250.

This time, the American automaker posted new pricing for this product. While  Tesla is not advertising how much its EV-charging adapter costs, the new changes could mean that it's the new entry price for such an item.

The price drop is not only limited to US-based buyers. In fact, it was also seen to be in effect in Canada. From $340, the price tag of the adapter is now $240 in the country.

What Might Push Tesla to Drop Adapter's Price?

Since there's already competition for EV chargers and adapters, Tesla might have resorted to the price drop to make its pricing more competitive.

Lectron, another known brand for charging devices, has posted its own CCS charger adapter on Amazon. At the time, the product sat at $189.99.

Tesla might have felt pressured from its rivals that's why it wanted to keep up with the demand of the customers.

The car manufacturer has been busy for the past weeks as it continues to ship various Tesla models across several countries.

Why Choose Tesla CCS Combo 1 Adapter?

Choosing a reliable EV charger adapter is important since it's one of the items that you will carry wherever you go.

The Tesla CCS Combo 1 Adapter can power up your Tesla car for up to 250 kw. What's more, there's nothing to worry about using it in third-party charging stations.

Although it's designed for Tesla units, the charger adapter is not compatible with some models.

Some EV owners should check the compatibility of their cars through their Tesla account before buying the CCS Combo 1. At times, you might be needing a retrofit before you use this product.

"Note: For vehicles requiring a retrofit, please check back in early 2023 for availability," Tesla wrote in a manual.

Is Tesla Magic Dock CCS Adapter Coming Soon?

According to Autoevolution, Tesla's Magic Dock will soon be usable in North America. Instead of using dual-connector chargers, this CCS adapter can fully function using a single cable.

For a full explanation of its capabilities, you can check Owen Sparks' tweet about it.

Since this is still speculation, we do not know what will be the final specs and features of the Magic Dock.

If that is true, this could be a very reliable accessory that every Tesla EV owner should purchase. For now, take this information with a grain of salt.
