In the latest companywide meeting of Meta with its leader, Mark Zuckerberg, addressing the company, the tech CEO has claimed that the Apple Vision Pro is not a threat to what it aims to bring. Moreover, it differs from Meta Quest's goal to share with the public, highlighting the strength and main principle of what their tech aims to bring.

The Verge's recent report said that Meta held a companywide meeting which the Meta CEO led, and here, he talked about the Apple Vision Pro amongst employees and executives.

In Zuckerberg's words, "that could be the vision of the future of computing, but like, it's not the one that I want. There's a real philosophical difference in terms of how we're approaching this."

Zuck immediately said there is a massive difference between the Quest 3 and the Vision Pro in terms of the "values and vision" of the device.

This shows how much Zuck believes in his device, especially with what the Quest 3 embodies for all AR/VR users in the future, boldly saying that "I'd say the good news is that there's no kind of magical solutions that they have to any of the constraints on laws and physics that our teams haven't already explored and thought of."

Zuck Thinks What Quest Offers is Better than the Vision Pro

At one point, Zuckerberg said that in Apple's showcase, the user was seen using the device alone, and this differentiates it from what Meta wants for the Quest 3. Zuck and Quest's offerings are "fundamentally social," which is what it aims for the metaverse to be.

The Meta CEO said that all of the showcases of the Vision Pro show a person using it alone while sitting on the couch, and this is a different thing from what the Quest aims to bring for all.

The Rise of Mixed-Reality Headsets Now

Meta has been a leading company when it comes to virtual reality offerings, and this is because of its 2014 acquisition of Quest, a renowned VR company. It was one of the most important acquisitions of Facebook then, amidst the expansion of its company alongside other prolific purchases of Instagram and WhatsApp.

However, Apple was first rumored to have a mixed-reality headset that it has been working on for almost half a decade, secretly previewing it to executives for years.

Now, both the companies' AR/VR headsets were out of the bags, with Meta going ahead with unveiling the Quest 3, its first take on an XR headset coming soon for the public. Apple followed through came WWDC 2023, finally unveiling what the industry has asked for in the past years.

Still, despite the promising take of the premium mixed-reality headset from Apple known as Vision Pro, Zuckerberg has addressed it in a recent meeting, having massive hopes for the upcoming Quest 3 to bring the competition to Apple.
