Electric vehicles nowadays are designed with the best technology there is, alongside the luxury features that expand more if its offers to its owners. That being said, a famed luxury vehicle manufacturer, Rolls Royce, has recently introduced its latest 2024 Spectre EV, the first clean energy car from its lineup that captures the Rolls experience.

However, while this is the first modern take on a Rolls Royce EV, there were plans before to equip its luxury cars with electric motors to complete the premium experience with a silent and comfortable vehicle.

Rolls Royce unveiled the 2024 Spectre EV back in 2022, and it is the first take of the company in a fully-electric vehicle that captures what the brand is all about. It is a culmination of Rolls Royce's design, engineering, and development of its vehicles in one, featuring a befitting name in line with what the company offers.

The Spectre EV features a twin-motor powertrain to bring its electrifying performance to the road, featuring an EPA-rated 260 miles on one full charge. While this may not be enough for long-hauls, it still presents a decent mileage for those traveling around the city or other nearby locations and back home.

According to Ars Technica, Rolls Royce said that most Spectre EV owners prefer charging it at the office or at home. Still, it features a DC fast charging outlet with a CCS-1 port.

Spectre EV: Performance and Luxury in One

The Spectre EV's powertrain brings a whopping 584 horsepower and 900nm of torque, and it is enough to get the blood pumping and feel the adrenaline behind the wheel.

That being said, it is equipped with a slur of luxurious features as one would expect from a Rolls Royce car.

The Spectre EV is 123 years in the making, as Charles Stewart Rolls initially envisioned an electric Rolls-Royce car back in 1900, but the lack of charging stations made it a challenge for its development.

Rolls Royce and its Developments

Clean energy has always been part of Rolls-Royce's developments in the past years, and the company may not have focused it mostly on its cars, but it also pledged a 2030 end to its ICE developments. The British luxury car brand is best known for using V engines on its cars, combining both performance and luxury in one.

And while Rolls Royce does not have a massive EV portfolio in today's time, the company is known for its developments of electric plane engines that change its source of power for propulsion. Apart from being a clean energy engine for planes, Rolls Royce also boasts that its electric planes are the fastest in the world.

Rolls Royce may be lagging, but its latest entry to its clean energy lineup centers on the 2024 Spectre EV, being the company's first electric coupe in the market. The impressive specs and performance bring competition to other EVs out there, paired with the explosive performance that encapsulates what Rolls Royce has to offer for its cars.
