This may not be the biggest news for "The Last of Us" franchise, but this is certainly surprising, as a composer leaked that the three-year-old game, "The Last of Us Part 2," might be getting a remaster.

While unsure if it would simply be remaster or a remake for the PlayStation 5, the leak also suggests the possibility of its anticipated PC arrival.

'The Last of Us Part 2' Leak: Composer Drops Details of Remaster

"The Last of Us Part 2" series composer, Gustavo Santaolalla, had a small role at the beginning of the game, where he can be seen playing the banjo outside a building with a dog standing near him as a non-player character (NPC).

However, he recently revealed in a recent Spanish interview that in the next version of the game, players would be able to come up to him and request songs for him to play.

Santaolalla then noted that it's the only thing he can say, which seems to tell that a new version of the game or a remaster of "The Last of Us Part 2" may be on the way.

According to ComicBook Gaming, there is also a possibility that the composer slipped up and talked about a multiplayer spin-off cameo or "The Last of Us Part 3" game.

'The Last of Us Part 2': Coming to PS5, Possibly PCs

There was different news regarding The Last of Us Part 2's remake, following last year's "The Last of Us Part 1" availability for the PS5 and PC platforms.

It is rumored that with this leak, Naughty Dog may already be working on developing "The Last of Us Part 2" for the PlayStation 5 and, possibly, for PCs. It may be a remaster for the PS5 and opening the availability to PCs, but you should take this new information with a grain of salt as nothing is sure yet.

Naughty Dog and The Last of Us

Renowned game maker, Naughty Dog, has found significant success in "The Last of Us" franchise over the years, and after the 2020 release of its sequel, gamers are left without a successor yet.

It is important to note that it took seven years before Naughty Dog was able to deliver the continuation of Ellie's story since Part 1's release in 2013.

Thus, gamers are already asking for Part 3, and there were substantial leaks about the sequel game, but Naughty Dog has shut down all the rumors about a new game.

Naughty Dog seemed to have a different priority, especially after the game made way for its live adaptation, retelling the events of "The Last of Us Part 1."

Instead of getting news regarding the multiplayer game or "The Last of Us Part 3," gamers are now met with a possible remaster or remake of the 2020 game.

The composer's details are still hazy, but it does open up opportunities for the possible arrival of a new game on the PC platform, apart from its exclusive availability on the PlayStation.
