Being able to use rewards to purchase subscriptions is one of the many features that could be very attractive to players, but this is something missing from Microsoft Rewards. This comes as the rewards service doesn't come with the option for players to use their points to redeem a free Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription.

Microsoft Rewards is Dropping How It Would Allow Players to Get Free Xbox Game Pass Ultimate

According to the story by Game Rant, Microsoft Rewards is missing one critical option, which would be to allow players to exchange their redeemed points to get a free Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription. The report notes that it remains unknown as to whether or when the service will be returned.

The publication explains that Microsoft Rewards is the company's loyalty program that allows players to exchange points they earned for different types of products. It was noted that for those using the Xbox console, this feature made it possible for players to get a free Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

It was noted that by completing different quests on Microsoft Rewards and Xbox Game Pass, players could get a free Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription without needing to pay any money. Aside from this, the redeemed points are reportedly redeemable for rewards like Xbox gift cards and more.

Players Used to Be Able to Claim Xbox Live Gold Memberships and Other Rewards

Other rewards that players can claim include Xbox Live Gold memberships, virtual currency inside specific games, and even gift cards for food establishments and different retailers. This would incentivize players to finish quests inside the game while having fun doing them.

Multiple gamers were able to use the Microsoft Rewards loop to be able to get a free Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership. However, this has changed as of press time, as the option to purchase the subscription with the points earned from rewards is no longer available.

This comes without explanation, but suddenly, Game Rant notes that the codes have disappeared for the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. The article also noted that codes for the vanilla Game Pass are also no longer available as well.

Players Can Still Get Free Games with Microsoft Rewards or Use It to Get Other Subscription

Gamers would still be able to use Microsoft Rewards to get free PC Game Pass and Xbox Live Gold subscriptions. The article noted that this wasn't new and that the codes remained missing for about a week during the report.

Certain players have reported how the codes returned and then disappeared again, while others say that the codes have never gotten back. Game Rant notes that it remains unknown why Microsoft removed this feature, which was previously a huge incentive for players to finish quests.

This comes at a time when Microsoft has increased the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate price, as reported by The Verge, which didn't translate to the Microsoft Rewards codes costing more. Previously, as seen in an article by PC World, players can use their Microsoft Rewards to get a free Xbox Game Pass for PC.
