Adding a burst of excitement to smartwatch enthusiasts, Samsung revealed that three handy apps - WhatsApp, Wallet, and Thermo Check - are making their way to the Galaxy Watch lineup.

This move aims to provide users with a more responsive, adaptable, and multi-functional smartwatch experience.

Samsung Wallet

Last year, Samsung astounded users with the introduction of Samsung Wallet, a powerful all-in-one app that seamlessly combined Samsung Pay and Samsung Pass on smartphones.

This year, PhoneArena reports that the company is taking this functionality further by integrating Samsung Wallet into its Galaxy Watch series. With the Wallet app now available on Galaxy Watch wearable devices, users can enjoy a host of convenient features right from their wrists.

The Wallet app empowers users to make payments effortlessly, provide identification, and even access show tickets without reaching for their smartphones.

This is a significant step towards consolidating users' wallets and simplifying their daily interactions, making life on-the-go more streamlined and efficient.

Thermo Check

Another remarkable addition to the Galaxy Watch series is the Thermo Check app, leveraging Samsung's advanced infrared technology.

Thanks to the newly incorporated Skin Temperature API, users can now measure the temperature of their surroundings without any physical contact.

From checking the temperature of meals before consuming them to gauging water temperatures before diving in, the Thermo Check app is set to revolutionize how we interact with our environment.

Samsung plans to roll out Thermo Check initially on its upcoming Galaxy Watch 6 devices, followed by expansion to the Galaxy Watch 5 series.

WhatsApp

In a significant expansion of the unified Wear OS ecosystem, Samsung has exciting news for Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 4 users.

WhatsApp has released its first-ever smartwatch app for these Galaxy Watch models. This move signifies a significant step towards a more connected and seamless communication experience.

The WhatsApp smartwatch app allows users to continue conversations, reply to messages using voice commands, and even answer calls without pulling out their smartphones.

What's Next for Galaxy Watch Series Users?

While the introduction of WhatsApp, Wallet, and Thermo Check apps brings impressive new functionalities to the Galaxy Watch series, Samsung hints at even more exciting surprises to be unveiled at the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event on July 26.

The company promises additional versatile functions that are bound to elevate the user experience of Galaxy Watch users to new heights.

Samsung's relentless pursuit of innovation continues to expand the wider app ecosystem on its Galaxy Watch series, delivering a more seamless and user-friendly experience for tech enthusiasts and casual users alike.
