Generative AI is a technology that a lot of businesses have been racing to incorporate and recently, Adobe Express revealed that it added an AI-powered feature that would allow it to better compete with Canva.

Adobe Express is Getting Additional AI Features with Its Firefly Model to Help Give Users the Ability to Create Content

According to the story by The Verge, Adobe Express is going to equip itself with Firefly, the company's very own generative AI model which gives users the ability to create customized images and text effects. This could be extremely useful for the user's graphics for marketing and social media.

This comes after the feature remained in beta for several months until recently when Adobe decided that it was time for its users to have access to its AI-powered features. With the new offering, Adobe Express users would be able to use its Firefly generative AI model.

AI Abilities Let Adobe Express, Previously Adobe Spark, Compete with Canva and Microsoft Designer

Adobe Express is the company's design platform that exists on the cloud and with the new feature, even those without experience in design would get access to a feature that would allow them to create these designs with the help of AI.

The service was previously known as Adobe Spark and had a similar design to other platforms like Microsoft Designer or the social media-friendly Canva. This was because of their ability to provide easy templates and simplified approaches when it came to creating different types of content.

The Different Types of Content Users Can Make Include PDFs, Posters, and More

Some types of content include posters, PDFs, and graphics designed for social media as also noted in an article by Creative Bloq. The platforms also provide an easy way for users to edit videos, photos, and other particular posts for different uses.

In order for users to access the new abilities with premium features and assets, they would have to subscribe to the Adobe Express Premium plan, which is its subscription model that costs $9.99 monthly. However, the latest version of Express is still free to access on the desktop web with the mobile version expected to launch soon.

Canva has been Offering AI-Powered Features Since at Least 2019

Other plans that subscribers can subscribe to include the Creative Cloud members, which gives the feature with no extra cost for existing members. As for the enterprise tier, the feature is already available and can be used when it comes to collaboration.

The generative AI feature has recently been available despite Adobe Express already being offered to people since 2021. Express users would be able to generate custom images and text effects as the feature can be used with over 100 languages.

However, its competitor Canva has long had support for AI-powered features since at least 2019. This came with the addition of a tool that would automatically remove the background from a particular image.
