Microsoft Paint is Getting an AI-Powered Boost Claims Report—Will it Revamp the Experience?

What the recent changes have taught us is how AI is getting integrated into almost anything, and this is reportedly coming to one of the most unimaginable apps, Microsoft Paint. For the longest time, Microsoft Paint has kept to its roots, with the app known for being one of the most basic apps for users to explore on the Windows operating system, with previous revamps bringing it additional features.

However, Microsoft Paint still kept what makes it the iconic Microsoft Paint, the app that the older generation has used for doodling on the computer, built-in with the Windows OS.

A report from Windows Central is claiming that sources familiar with the matter have revealed that Microsoft Paint will soon get a massive upgrade, and this is through the company's significant AI integration. From being the straightforward and user-dependent Paint app, it will see an AI-powered boost that will give users a chance to create more refined images via machine generation.

It was revealed by the sources that Microsoft is planning to bring the same technology applied to Bing's Image Creator experience, one that resembles what OpenAI's DALL-E featured for all.

DALL-E's AI centers on an AI image generator that allows text-to-image creation with several prompts, with its output available in under seconds or minutes.

Will Paint be an Advanced Windows App?

Paint has been the center of pop culture because of how grounded it was compared to other Microsoft apps, but that may soon change should Windows users see the AI upgrade intended for the app.

Microsoft will add a "Magic Paint" button on the sidebar of the app, and this will bring users a text field where they can enter their prompts to create their desired image that would appear on the Paint app's interface. This will still be available for them to edit or add more elements to enhance the AI-generated image.

The Microsoft Paint's Legacy

From the early YouTube shoutouts via the Microsoft Paint app, to see a 3D upgrade from Microsoft that arrived in Windows 10, after more than 30 years of the renowned program in computers.

Microsoft has kept the Paint app in 2D for almost its entire lifetime, and this feature has been an iconic app for Windows users that has grown to be loved by the public and become the subject of various memes and pop culture references.

Since 1985, Windows or MS Paint has given users a chance to draw out their different ideas, and also draw out letters that bring statements to friends or the world. In Windows 11, the Paint app got another redesign that lines up with what Microsoft intends the operating system to be, now featuring a dark theme that changes its entire window to match user settings.

This new Paint app also got a revamped command bar that adds more choices for users to edit or plot on the software.

Since then, it has been the basic and straightforward app from Microsoft which has grown into users and became a fond experience when using Windows, a feature that could not be seen anywhere. Now, it is getting an AI-powered boost based on recent reports, with the world soon seeing a more advanced Paint that may completely change the perception of the good ol' app.
