There are still no plans for massive changes to Apple's MacBook Pro, as the speculated OLED display upgrade is not yet coming anytime soon, likely by 2026 or 2027, according to an analyst.

That means it may take three years before Apple delivers its OLED-equipped MacBook Pro, an upgrade many are waiting for as iPad Pros already got it. While Apple has already made it possible for the iPad Pros, MacBook Pros, and laptop-sized manufacturing with OLED panels are not yet available.

MacBook Pro OLED Screen Upgrade Coming by 2026, 2027

recent webinar with Bloomberg Intelligence's Woo Jin Ho, featuring DSCC's Ross Young, has revealed a timeframe for Apple's future development on the MacBook Pro screens, particularly with the OLED upgrade.

According to the Display Supply Chain Consultants CEO, it will take several years for Apple's partners to build its manufacturing lines for the mass production of the OLED display. With this information, Young claimed that he expects the OLED upgrade to occur by around 2026 or 2027.

According to MacRumors, Young previously talked about this timeline from Apple regarding its OLED displays, also mentioning its arrival in 2026.

OLED MacBook Pros: Still Years Away, Analyst Says

MacBook Pro's Upgrades in its Current Releases

The latest upgrade to the MacBook Pro is the arrival of the M2 series chips to the computer, with the laptop featuring almost the same design as the previous 13-inch, 14-inch, and 16-inch variants of the device.

It was a long overdue upgrade for the MacBook Pro, as it is known that Apple sacrificed this device due to problems in its supply chains and budget constraints.

There are significant speculations regarding the screens of the MacBook Pro, particularly as many have claimed that Apple will first debut a touchscreen in this lineup in 2025.

Various tech and computer companies have made significant changes to their computer screens, including the arrival of touch screens and OLED laptops, with Apple still left behind with the LCD.

The good thing about Apple's focus on LCD is that many people would still benefit from the technology, being able to deliver rich colors and sharp images via its Retina displays, which are already great but have the potential to be improved.

The MacBook Pros are not going anywhere and will be a mainstay in Apple's technology offered to the world, with the OLED screens awaiting their future development and application to the computer.
