New rumors surrounding the release of the Nintendo Switch 2 have recently emerged. It is speculated that it will arrive next year and be released with two models.
It was a different approach compared to Nintendo's introduction of the Switch console in 2017, offering only the standalone device with the removable joysticks.
Nintendo Switch 2 Is Set to Bring Two Models Upon Release
A Discord user named SoldierDelta has been rambling about the next-generation Switch and what it has to offer the world. He noted that the Nintendo Switch 2 will release two models, as opposed to its previous releases, which only featured standalone devices.
In his words, several sources claimed that the Switch 2 will bring AR features to the world, but it will not release an OLED screen to users.
ComicBook Gaming said the Nintendo Switch 2 would resemble the PS5 and Xbox Series S and X's releases, with one Switch 2 console featuring the Standard Edition and the other, the digital-only version, would not have a cartridge slot for physical games.
SoldierDelta is renowned for previous accurate information shared via the Discord channels, centering on video game rumors.

Nintendo Switch 2 Expectations, Price, Release Date, and MORE
It was reported that the Nintendo Switch 2 standard edition will likely be available for $449, and the digital version will have a price tag of $399.
Both models are the most expensive among Nintendo Switch consoles, as even the Switch OLED was available for only $349.99 during its release. This multi-variant approach of Nintendo would be different from its past releases, with each console version released every two years.
SoldierDelta further noted that the initial launch would take place on September 24, 2024, with a fallback date of November 3 of the same year should it not arrive by early Fall.
The Nintendo Switch 2 Is Allegedly Coming
Since 2022, the rumors behind Nintendo's plans to release a new Switch console have been hot among speculators and rumor mongers in the industry, with many claiming that insiders are already sharing details on this device.
The rumors took the spotlight again after NVIDIA's employee confirmed a new SoC, long-rumored to be what Nintendo will use for the new Switch come its time. It was also reported that the Switch 2, a.k.a. the Switch NG (new generation), will feature VR capabilities, allowing a different immersion to its games and features.
While the Nintendo Switch consoles have the potential to do so because of its gyroscope features, it remains unknown if this is part of Nintendo's plan and development for its next-gen device.
Apart from the console itself, many speculators are also bringing news about the Switch's new games currently being developed by various companies, including that of CAPCOM with an alleged Monster Hunter sequel.
The Switch NG is on fire now, with its two models rumored to be released at the same time in September or November 2024.
