Apple iMac Refresh Coming in 2024, 32-inch with mini LED in 2025—Not This Year says Kuo

In the recent reports from renowned insiders, one thing is sure, and that is new iMacs are coming soon for the world to see, but they are not coming this 2023 for those awaiting it. According to a famous Apple analyst, the Cupertino giant would bring the iMac refresh three years after the last one, with 2024 seeing an updated desktop computer with the new chips.

On the other hand, there would also be an upgrade coming to its display, with the iMac featuring a mini LED that is coming later, by 2025.

Apple to Refresh the iMac by 2024, Not This Year

Ming-Chi Kuo, the famed Apple insider, and analyst, has posted an update to his X account, claiming that the next iMac releases would come in the coming years and not for 2023 to arrive before the year ends. Kuo regarded that the iMac refresh would arrive by next year, 2024, but did not clarify which dates or seasons Apple would deliver this updated device.

Kuo also clarified that this new information is centering on the 24-inch iMac, the same design and release that it had last 2021 when it first introduced the M-series to the lineup.

It was not revealed why Apple is delaying the refreshed iMac's release by next year, especially as it was originally speculated for this year in previous reports.

iMac with mini LED Coming by 2025

There was also another device that Kuo mentioned, and it is the larger iMac variant, coming in with a 32-inch screen, set to be a higher-end release that comes with a mini LED. This new display technology would feature an upgrade to its current Retina LCDs but did not mention anything about the chip that would come with it.

It is speculated that it will arrive with the M3 chips, and Kuo, along with other speculators claims that it would come by 2025.

What Happened to the iMacs?

One year is somewhat fast for a tech upgrade, and two years are already enough to keep people waiting and wanting the device, but three years may be too much, something that may make a person think it is already obsolete. This is the case for Apple's iMac which was last released with the first-generation M1 chip, first seeing the light of day in 2021.

Many speculations claimed that it would arrive by 2022, but it was not announced by Apple via an event or press release, with insiders claiming that 2023 would be its year. However, it was also speculated that the iMac would either arrive by late 2023 or later, meaning that this could also focus on a 2024 release, with hints from Bloomberg's Mark Gurman that it would arrive with the M3.

However, it remains unknown when Apple would release the next generation of M3 chips to the world and the computers that would use it, and the same goes for the iMac. May it be chip problems or changing its assembly production, Apple is yet to bring its next-gen iMacs to the world despite the massive wait and anticipation of the public, further prolonged until 2024 and 2025.
