It's almost a new month and that means another batch of free games are coming to Xbox Live Gold subscribers.

Like in month's past, Xbox One and Xbox 360 owners will be able to download two free games over the course of August for each console.

Headling this month's free game selection is Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes for Xbox One. The prequel of sorts to the upcoming Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain caught more than a little flak at the time of its release in 2014 for being a short experience. If you decided to wait and pick up the game at a later date, now you can snag it for free and see what all the fuss is about yourself, without feeling guilty about spending $40.

Xbox One owners will also be able to download How to Survive: Storm Warning Edition. This title might sound like a Hurricane survival game, but it's actually a zombie game that usually retails for $19.99. Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes will be available the entirety of the month, while How to Survive can be downloaded anytime between Aug. 16 and Sept. 15.

Players who are still on the Xbox 360 will be able to dive into the post-apocalyptic world of Metro, twice. Both Metro 2033 and its sequel Metro: Last Light are going free in Aug., allowing gamers to experience the entire game franchise. Each title is a first person shooter with more than a few hints of survival horror, making the game's truly stand out from other shooters on the market. You'll be able to download Metro 2033 first starting at the beginning of the month. Come Aug. 15, you will then be able to download Metro: Last Light.

Just because Microsoft has announced next month's Games with Gold doesn't mean you can't snag the free games from last month. Gears of War 3 is still free on Xbox 360, and you can pick up Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag and So Many Me on Xbox One.
