Huawei just released a list of devices it aims to update with Android 6.0 Marshmallow in the weeks and months ahead. One of those devices is the Honor 7, and it will be the first to taste what Google has been cooking.

Huawei marketing executive Xi Zhao, the plan is to release the Marshmallow beta test for the Honor 7 in about four weeks. It simply means owners of the device should keep an eye out for the beta rollout by the end of November.

Xi Zhao made the announcement at a meeting in Berlin, Germany, as Android Central first reported.

Considering that the Android 6.0 Marshmallow version the Chinese company is planning to release is in beta, potential users should expect a few problems here and there, but nothing substantial to keep the Honor 7 from working properly.

When it comes down to when Android 6.0 will make its way to the other Huawei devices, it remains to be seen. However, we suspect the company is using the Honor 7 as a public test subject before making the new update available to other devices. If this proves to be the case, then the other handsets could very well receive the update just in time for Christmas, or in early 2016.

The Huawei Honor 7 is a powerful smartphone that launched back in July of this year. The handset sports a 5.2-inch display, and a 20-megapixel camera at the rear. At the front, there's a decent 8-megapixel camera for taking selfies and making video calls. The processor is a Quad-core 2.2 GHz Cortex-A53 & Quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53.

Here are the Huawei devices that are expected to receive an update to Android 6.0 in the coming months:

Huawei P8, Huawei P8 Youth Edition, Huawei P8 Max, Huawei Mate S, Huawei Mate 7, Huawei G8 (Chinese version), Huawei G7, Huawei G7 Plus, Huawei Honor 7, Huawei Honor 7i, Huawei Honor 6, Huawei Honor 6 Plus, Huawei 4C, Huawei 4X and Huawei X2.
