After Game of Thrones fans watched in horror as The Mountain in "Game of Thrones" literally crushed the head of Oberyn Martell in their infamous fight scene in Season Four of the HBO series, it's hard to believe that anyone would dare to take on the real life viking: Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, the 6 foot 9, 400-pound strong man from Iceland.

But UFC Interim Featherweight Champion Conor McGregor was up to the challenge and lived to tell the tale. In just-under three and a half minute sparring session that was uploaded on to YouTube, the two fighting men go at it in a friendly bare knuckled match, wearing no protective gear.

While the spar itself was quite uneventful, it is amazing to see the two men, each with their own unique fighting strengths go at it for a bought.

Conor McGregor, standing at 5 feet 9 inches and weighing just 145 pounds is practically dwarfed by the man of Viking lineage who truly lives up to his "Game of Thrones" character name, The Mountain that Rides.

McGregor, aka TheNotoriousMMA as he is known by his Twitter handle, has quite a resume himself. Hailing from Dublin, Ireland, "The Notorious" is a lethal machine having trained in kickboxing, capoeira, boxing, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, taekwondo, and karate.

Björnsson on the other hand frequently posts updates on his Instagram account of his achievements such as winning for yet another year with the coveted title of World's Strongest Viking for the fifth year in a row.

He is also not one to let anyone forget how poor Oberyn fared when he dared to face The Mountain in bloody combat.

Check out the two veritable killing machines go at it for their three-minute friendly spar. Don't worry, no brains were crushed like overripe melons in the making of this video.
