The police officers including the Border Patrol, have joined forces in the boycott of all Quentin Tarantino films, including his upcoming "Hateful Eight" which will open on Christmas, the controversial writer-director says that he is not worried about the backlash from law enforcement over the words he shared at a rally four days after New York City officer Randolph Holder was shot in the head while apprehending a suspect on duty.

Tarantino defended his views saying that the boycott is only serving to sidestep the real issue of police brutality by putting the spotlight on him as a cop-hater, which he says is far from the truth.

Although his exact words during the RiseUpOctober march in front of 300 people were, "When I see murders, I do not stand by... I have to call a murder a murder, and I have to call the murderers the murderers," he clarified his statement saying that he never implied that all cops were murderers.

According to his first public statement to address the boycott and the issue, Tarantino claims that his critics are really aiming to discredit him so that people will ignore the real issue.

"Instead of dealing with the incidents of police brutality that those people were bringing up, instead of examining the problem of police brutality in this country, better they single me out. And their message is very clear. It's to shut me down. It's to discredit me. It is to intimidate me. It is to shut my mouth, and even more important than that, it is to send a message out to any other prominent person that might feel the need to join that side of the argument," he said.

Despite this, Tarantino also shared that he is not phased by the hateful "slander" against him and although he feels his initial statements are being misconstrued, he also does not take back any of them.

Meanwhile, other Hollywood celebrities such as Jamie Foxx, support Tarantino and have reportedly urged him to "keep telling the truth."
