Bethesda released a limited $120 Fallout 4 Pip-Boy Edition, which included a replica of the Pip-Boy wrist-worn computer that was described by the studio as the ultimate accessory for the official Pip-Boy companion mobile app.

With the Pip-Boy functioning as a casing, gamers can utilize their smartphones to work as a second screen where they can manage their in-game inventory, holotapes, perks and more.

There has been massive demand for the Pip-Boy accessories, however, with the Fallout 4 Pip-Boy Edition selling out almost immediately. Preorders for the limited edition went back up in August, but was sold out in a blink once again.

The high demand for the Fallout 4 Pip-Boy Edition is why certain business-minded gamers are posting their preordered copies on auction sites such as eBay, where asking prices are going up as high as $2,000.

Not all Fallout 4 fans would be willing to shell out that much money to get that Pip-Boy though. However, for those who own an Apple Watch, developer and designer Neven Mrgan announced something that could be the next best thing from wearing a Pip-Boy on your wrist.

Mrgan released a square-shaped Apple Watch interface that can be used by gamers that have dedicated themselves as members of Vault 111. The static image is used with watchOS 2, which gives users the ability to choose pictures as the background of their Apple Watches.

Users will simply have to download the image that Mrgan uploaded on their iPhone, either by sending it through email or SMS. If the iPhone and Apple Watch have synced camera rolls, the image should be selectable on the Apple Watch through the Photos app as a background image option by using Force Touch on the picture.

The image features a lot of open space in the upper right where the date and time would be displayed so that it would look like an official design. It might not be as cool or functional as a Pip-Boy replica, but for those that missed out on the preorders, this might not be a bad consolation.
