Gears of War studio Epic Games has dropped the first teaser trailer for Paragon, along with a lot of blanks it says it'll fill in as time rolls on.

"Prepare for victory," reads the game's description. "Discover a new hero each week and unlock unique in-game items."

The game will run on Unreal Engine 4 and there will surely be guns and classes. The first of at least five classes, called TwinBlast, has been revealed.

Going by its car commercial-like presentation, the TwinBlast is fitted with light armor and an apparent exoskeleton suit. The most defining characteristic of this soldier-slash-renegade is that it wields two heavy pistols.

There are several unlockable perks available to the TwinBlast class, which offer just the tiniest slither of background for the game. TwinBlast can fight for either glory, pride, fortune or infamy and each motive comes with its own perks.

The Glory perk deals bonus damage versus shielded enemies; the Pride perk fittingly buffs damage while wounded (Wounded pride, perhaps?); the Fortune perk boosts critical hit damage with successive hits; and the Infamy perk adds bonus critical hits landed on bleeding targets.

For the TwinBlast class, the Glory perk is called "Reverberate" and the Pride perk is the "Injured Rage." The Fortune perk is dubbed "Bounty Stalker" and the Infamy perk is called "Merciless."

Epic Games will, in the coming weeks, unveil the Shield (Nov. 12), Sparrow (Nov. 19), Decker (Nov. 24) and Grux (Dec. 3) classes and maybe more.

That's really all there is for now. It seems that Epic Games will stick tightly to the trendy scheme of slowly stripteasing information about its upcoming games over the weeks to come.

It's still hard to tell if Epic is going after an arena shooter or a MOBA. Since the studio is working on a new Unreal Tournament, an arena shooter seems unlikely.

Paragon is due out on PC in early 2016, according to Epic Games. Those interested in signing up for the beta can do so by following this link.

In the meantime, check out this trailer for TwinBlast:
