President Barack Obama has finally started his own Facebook page. The page was launched by the White House, with the first post showing the president giving a tour of his backyard, which is also a national park, as he points out.

The page also shows off some of Obama's achievements, and big life events, including getting married, being sworn in as a U.S. Senator, and being sworn in as president.

"Hello, Facebook! I finally got my very own page," said Obama on the page. "I hope you'll think of this as a place where we can have real conversations about the most important issues facing our country—a place where you can hear directly from me, and share your own thoughts and stories."

Of course, the president also mentioned that he would be posting some "just-for-fun stuff" as well. During the tour of the White House backyard, for example, he talked about the animals that can be found there, and then shifted into a message about climate change.

Obama is clearly the most social president to date, having started a Twitter page earlier this year. According to the White House, tweets are written in his voice but may not be written by the president himself. It is likely that posts on the Facebook page will be similar.

Climate change has been a big focus of the president over the last week or so. He recently rejected an application by TransCanada to build the Keystone XL pipeline, which he says would have undercut America's role as a global leader on climate change.
