Fitbit remains the leading brand of activity tracker, and once again, consumers can pick up a new Fitbit device of their choice at a great discount on Black Friday. Buyers have the option of five models this year, the Zip, One, Flex, Charge and newly-introduced Surge.

The entry-level Zip is a clip-on tracker that performs all the basic Fitbit functions in conjunction with the dedicated Fitbit app. That includes measurement of steps taken, distance traveled and calories burned. The Zip usually goes for $59, but this year's best deals on the device are at Best Buy and Kohl's, each of which feature the tracker for just $39, a $20 discount.

A step up from the Zip is the other Fitbit clip-on, the One, which adds a convertible wristband, stair climbing measurement and sleep-tracking functions to the mix. The One normally goes for $99, and technically, no major retailer has it on sale for Black Friday, but we've worked out a deal for those who want the item. Staples carries the One and has a coupon in its Black Friday flyer for 25 percent off any one item on Black Friday or the day after. Apply it to a Fitbit One and your cost comes to just $75.

The Fitbit Flex is a wearable wristband that tracks steps, distance, calories burned, active minutes and sleep. Walmart has the best deal on the Flex hands-down this year, with the low $59 price good enough to be featured on the cover of its flyer.

The Fitbit Charge is a step up from the Flex and offers an onscreen clock, along with caller ID when paired with the user's smartphone. It retails for $129, but Best Buy and Kohl's have the best Black Friday deals on the device, with both retailers offering it for just $89. The Charge HR, which also measures heart rate, is also discounted proportionally at both stores, as well as Target.

Finally, new for this year is the Fitbit Surge, touted by the company as a "fitness super watch" that uses GPS and features music control. The Surge retails for $249. If you're looking for the best deal on this item, both Target and Best Buy are offering it for $199 this Black Friday, a $50 discount.
