The whole world is shocked with the horrifying coordinated terrorist attacks in six known locations in Central Paris on Nov. 13 to 14, leaving hundreds dead and prompting French President Francois Hollande to declare the country under a state of emergency and close its borders. In the midst of all the fear confusion, world leaders have expressed their contempt for the despicable actions of the attackers and extended their support and assistance to French government, as well as showed their solidarity by lighting up their country's monuments in the colors of the French flag.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and New South Wales Premier Mike Baird are just two of the officials who quickly expressed support for the people of Paris. Both leaders have also instructed their state's monuments, the New York's One World Center and the Sydney Opera House, to be lit up in the colors of the French Flag. Likewise, Baird has asked for a French Flag to be placed on the Harbour Bridge.

However, those are not the only monuments lighting up in red, white and blue all over the world. Twitter user Josh Jordan has collected a few other photos from different cities and other social media users all over the world have shown their support as they #StandWithParis.

"Today, and in the days ahead, New York will light One World Trade Center in blue, white and red as we stand in solemn solidarity with the people of France, just as they have done for us in our own times of tragedy... And we continue to stand side by side with them in our commitment to a free and peaceful world," New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said in a released statement on Nov. 13.

President Hollande, who was watching the soccer game between France and Germany when the attacks began immediately left the game to deal with the situation. He called the terrorist attacks a horror but is determined to protect the country's citizens and catch the aggressors. Faced with terror, this is a nation that knows how to defend itself, how to mobilize its forces and once again, knows how to overcome the terrorists, he said.

No terrorist group has claimed the evil acts yet but ISIS has reportedly applauded whoever was behind the tragedy.
