Adele's highly adept at making people cry but apparently she can also make some burst into tears of joy.

To coincide with the release of her album "25," "Adele at the BBC" also aired Nov. 20. For the special, a number of Adele impersonators had been invited, told that they were to take part in an audition. There was a blonde Adele. There was a red-headed Adele. And there was, of course, the real Adele.

As "Jenny," the singer was almost unrecognizable. She was fitted with a prosthetic chin and nose for the prank and had her makeup done to give her more catty eyes and smaller lips. Adele also wore black gloves to hide her tattoos and talked with a deeper voice to mask her identity.

After a bit of a greeting from BBC's Graham Norton, Adele proceeded backstage to join the line of other Adeles waiting for their turn on the stage. One named Gabriela broke the silence, introducing herself to the group which prompted Adele to respond that she's Jenny.

Another asked the singer if she just impersonates Adele or does other characters, adding that she can't wait for the new album.

"She's taking her time," said Adele.

"Try saying that to her face," said another impersonator, which resulted in a few giggles from the rest of the group.

As one by one the impersonators took to the stage to give their best rendition of the Hello singer, Adele pretended to be sick, needing to step out a bit to get some fresh air.

When all of the impersonators were done with their performances, Adele finally went onstage. Owing to Jenny's nerves, the singer stopped the intro to "Make You Feel My Love," asking that they do it again.

As the rest of the Adele impersonators looked on, many of them worried for Jenny, the singer started singing her song. It takes them a line or two, however, to start realizing that they're looking and listening at the real deal.

Maybe it wasn't even until Norton went onstage and said "Adeles meet your Adele" that the reality sunk in for them.

Hugs were given all around at the end, many of them with tears of happiness, as the impersonators couldn't believe their incredible luck at actually meeting Adele in person.
