It looks like Simpsons creator Matt Groening's other (more cultish) hit Futurama is finally returning to the small screen—your smartphone screen, that is, as a made-for-mobile game.

The animated sci-fi show, which ended in September 2013 after 140 episodes and 7 seasons, is being repackaged by the mobile developer and publisher Wooga as a puzzle-solving game titled Futurama: Release the Drones. According to Engadget, "the story will see the Planet Express crew take on MomCo in a delivery war, with players asked to connect groups of drones to solve puzzles," with Fry, Lee, Bender and company in tow.

Wooga has also brought a bevy of talented designers on board to create Release the Drones, including Dave Grossman, who previously developed Lucasfilm's The Secret of Monkey Island, and Telltale Games' Sam & Max, as well as former Futurama producer Patric Verrone.

In anticipation of the not-too-distant Release the Drones, get a blast from the past (or future?) with the Futurama opening credits in the clip below.
