Valentine McKee is coming back to face the underground terrors we've all come to know as Graboids in the 1990 film "Tremors."

There's no need to speculate whether the news is true or not because, on Nov. 24, Blumhouse Productions announced the reboot of "Tremors" in the small screen in collaboration with NBC's Universal Cable Productions, along with the confirmation that Kevin Bacon is on board, not only to reprise his heroic role but also to be the show's executive producer.

"Blumhouse Productions and Universal Cable are teaming up to restart the monster-worm franchise as a cable TV series, and Kevin Bacon ... is now confirmed to be reprising his role as Valentine McKee," Blumhouse.com published on its website.

It has yet to find a network to house the production but Andrew Miller has been tapped as series writer and the plot is supposedly set back in Perfection, Nevada, albeit 25 years after the events of the first film. There is no announcement yet if any of the other original cast will reprise their roles as a regular or at least have a cameo.

On the same day, Kevin Bacon tweeted a photo of him and Kyra Sedgwick taken on the set of "Tremors" 26 years ago. "Might be time to head back to Perfection," he wrote.

In 2003, SyFy housed the first television series of "Tremors" so there is a possibility that it may want to welcome the new series home, especially since Kevin Bacon is part of the production. Then again, Starz has been successfully rebooting cult classics so SyFy may have a fierce competition this time around. There's no news yet on which network is winning the race but we'll most likely find out soon enough.
