Earlier this year Asus released the ZenFone Selfie smartphone targeted at users who love to click self-portraits. Now, the Taiwan-based company has introduced a limited edition of the ZenFone Selfie.

The premium variant of the smartphone is called ZenFone Selfie Deluxe Edition and for those wondering how this special edition differs from the original - it has a textured back with crystal-type cuts on the rear panel. By contrast, the regular ZenFone Selfie smartphone has a plain rear cover.

The ZenFone Selfie Deluxe Edition was spotted on Zol, the Chinese forum, where images of the Asus smartphone were shared. The photos gave a peek into the pink back cover with crystal diamond that has a 3D effect. Interestingly, the ZenFone Selfie Deluxe Edition resembles yet another limited edition from Asus - the Zenfone 2 Deluxe.

Apart from the crystal-like back, the ZenFone Selfie Deluxe Edition also gets a storage boost and will have 128GB of storage unlike its regular version, which boasts 32GB. The memory also sees an improvement as the limited edition variant will have 3GB of RAM, which betters the regular model's 2GB.

The other specifications and features on the Asus smartphone remain unchanged. To refresh your memory, the ZenFone Selfie Deluxe Edition will sport a 5.5-inch Full HD 1080p screen and Gorilla Glass 4. The device also boasts a pixel density of 403ppi.

Under the hood, the smartphone houses an octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor, which is clocked at 1.5GHz. The ZenFone Selfie Deluxe Edition also has a 13MP primary and secondary camera which pack-in several modes. The front-facing camera boasts an f/2.2 aperture to aid better group pictures.

The ZenFone Selfie Deluxe Edition will also have a 3000mAh battery which offers support for up to 10 hours of usage. It comes pre-loaded with Android 5.0 Lollipop.

The special edition of the ZenFone Selfie is currently only available for purchase in China and it is not known if it will make its way to other parts of the world. The pricing of the special edition ZenFone Selfie is also not known.
