Gaming On-The-Go is a weekly series that explores the mobile gaming industry, as well as uncovering the current trends, with hands-on guides for the latest smartphone and tablet games.

Put a fork in us because we are so done with turkey. After finally slaying the rest of our Thanksgiving leftovers, it's time to change up the menu this week. And the same can be true about our go-to mobile games.

While tofu may not be your food of choice (although trust me, it does grow on you), it is the star of an app that is worth downloading right now.

And just why would anyone want to play with tofu? Well, for starters, the game titled To-Fu Fury is being offered in the App Store as the free game of the week (normally costs $1.99), as well as for free on Amazon.

Besides the fact that it's free, To-Fu Fury is delightful in its own right. Published by Amazon Game Studios, the game lets players channel their inner Kill Bill as they control a piece of tofu that is a ninja. This mobile game falls into the puzzle genre where your little food ninja must navigate around an obstacle course collecting orbs to make it to the giant purple fortune cookie to clear the stage.

The box-shaped soy-based character is adorably squishy—not to mention sticky—so the player can ping, fling, and walk it through the course as it clings and jumps from wall to wall.

The graphics are impressive in these Asian environments that set the tone, along with the Mahjong-like music. Each level course is creatively unique, featuring spikes, towering wooden boards, rotating wheels and other obstacles and enemies. There are even boss battles so you get your kung fu on. Each level is fast-paced and starts off easy so you can master the basics as it becomes increasingly more challenging.

To control your tofu ninja (who is even wearing a red karate headband, with wardrobe customizable), simply press your finger on the character and drag in the direction you want it to move. This will have To-Fu leap across to the point you lead it to until you make your next move. The character can also fling across obstacles, Angry Birds-style, by dragging downward and letting go once you take your aim. A green line will appear to show the trajectory. Walk by sliding two fingers.

Even during harder levels, I never became frustrated with solving the puzzles to get to the next stage, making this just a really fun game. The only side effect is that you won't be able to stop saying "Oh-hoh-hoh-hoah."

Everyone should start Kung Fu fighting with To-Fu Fury. Get it now for free (with in-app purchases) while the offer lasts.
