It appears that Samsung is planning to add iOS support to its Gear S2 smartwatch, according to a new report.

Currently, the South Korean company's wearable only works with most Android smartphones. Now, SamMobile has confirmed that the tech titan is focusing on a Gear Manager app for iOS, citing insider sources. This means that iPhone users could soon be able to sync the smartwatch to their smartphones.

While the Gear S2 is said to work best on a Galaxy smartphone, it is anticipated that iPhone users will experience a few limitations.

The report, however, failed to indicate when Samsung plans to launch iOS support for Gear S2. It probably won't take long, since Apple could soon take the wraps off the next-generation Apple Watch. A Gear S3 that could work with both iOS and Android may also be in the works.

Meanwhile, users can anticipate the release of the brand new version of Samsung's Cross Ballpoint C-Pen stylus, which is touted to work with all touchscreen devices. Based on its code name (BT C Pen), the stylus will likely incorporate Bluetooth connectivity. It is predicted to be launched alongside the much-awaited next-gen Samsung Galaxy Tab E, with the official announcement expected to kick off in early 2016.

Specs-wise, the Samsung Gear S2 rocks a Super AMOLED display which touts a 360 x 360 resolution and 1.2-inch circular face. Its selling point is the rotating bezel, which is important in smartwatch navigation. The watch comes equipped with 4 GB of locker space and 512 MB RAM. The wearable runs on a dual-core processor clocked at 1 GHz.
