This season of Supergirl has already flown right on by. We can hardly believe that next week is already the winter finale, but we might just need a little breather to recoup after this already explosive season—and we are only about midway through.

Next week's winter finale picks up right where Monday night's episode 7 left off, pitting Supergirl vs. Astra in a showdown we can't wait to watch.

Up until this point, Astra hasn't really showed up much thus far. We have been patiently waiting for Kara Zor-El / Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) to hunt Astra (Laura Benanti) down, and finally we get to see the two face off.

Titled "Hostile Takeover," the winter finale focuses on Astra's big return. Even though Astra is the main villain in the episode, after learning about Hank Henshaw (David Harewood), we can't help but wonder if she will continue to play a major role in season 1 moving forward, or if she is just a supporting villain.

Either way, the promo has us excited to see the two ladies in action.

"No one besides you and me," Astra says. "You can't say it's not fair."

"We're done with fair," our hero replies.

The official episode synopsis is as follows:

Kara goes toe-to-toe with Astra when her aunt challenges Kara's beliefs about her mother. Also, Cat is threatened with being removed as the CEO of CatCo after a hacker exposes her private and damaging emails.
