Microsoft is eliminating the need for third-party apps when it comes to connecting Kinect with Windows 10.

On Thursday, the tech giant revealed its new Kinect developer preview, which enables Windows Hello for Kinect's sensor when used with Windows 10, as reported by The Verge.

Equipped with Windows Hello, one of the newest features of Windows 10, users will be able to use Kinect to log into the operating system by simply using their face.

With just a look into the Kinect's sensor with Windows Hello, users will be able to sign into Windows 10, getting high-grade security without having to punch in a password. Pretty cool.

"Once you have the preview version of the Kinect for Windows V2 driver (version 2.1.1511.11000 or higher), you can start developing sensor apps for Windows 10 using Visual Studio 2015 with Windows developer tools," a Microsoft forum reports. "You can also set up Windows Hello to log in using your Kinect."

Before Kinect was able to support Windows Hello, only Microsoft's latest Surface Book and Surface Pro 4 supported the feature. To date, many PCs still aren't equipped with cameras that would support Hello.

If you have an Xbox One Kinect, The Verge says you'll need to buy a $50 adapter to sync it with a Windows 10 PC.
