An update to the Google Play Movies & TV app includes a feature that might make you do a double take.

On Friday, Google Play Movies & TV updated to support Apple's AirPlay. That should be welcomed news to any Apple TV user.

"Google Play Movies & TV syncs movies and TV shows from your Google Play account to your iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch to watch on your device, or on any HDTV using Chromecast or Apple TV using AirPlay," Google writes for its app page on Apple's iTunes to describe Friday's update.

To use AirPlay with Google Play Movies & TV, though, you'll need at least a third-generation Apple TV with the device needing to be updated to at least 7.0 system software, as described on iTunes' page for the app.

The update to Google's app does't only include the support for Apple's AirPlay. There's more. In addition, Google also added HD quality and cell-phone streaming and for what it's worth, the overall look of Google Play Movies & TV has also been revamped with an entire new look.

How many extra downloads do you think the Google Play Movies & TV app will get now that it supports AirPlay?
