Verizon Wireless is making it easier than ever for its FiOS subscribers to stream nearly all of their much-loved DVR-recorded shows anywhere, so long as they have Internet connection.

The company announced that consumers who have FiOS Quantum TV service and FiOS Internet will now take advantage of the new offering Big Red is packing into its FiOS Mobile App for Android and iOS.

Before customers get their hopes up, though, note that Verizon did not clarify which content is not permitted to be streamed.

The updated version of this FiOS app, which brings in the new features Verizon tested out last month, is obtainable via Google Play Store and App Store.

What is notable as well with the new update is that the mobile app now provides support for live TV streaming. This means that consumers will now have access to their subscribed channels, albeit they can only take pleasure in this particular feature when they are using their mobile devices at home. Through this functionality, subscribers can either pause, play or rewind a live TV show.

Fans will likewise be delighted to know that through the updated FiOS app, users are treated with an assortment of on-demand titles. Furthermore, Verizon is also giving a way for its customers to manage their DVR recordings.

Verizon likewise noted that it is possible to use the users' devices as a FiOS TV remote. To top it all, users can configure parental controls to manage what shows kids should and shouldn't watch.

"The latest innovations of the FiOS Mobile app are how today's consumers want to watch TV and view content," explained Susan Retta, Verizon's vice president of consumer marketing. "These new features allow our customers to take their home FiOS TV experience with them and enjoy it whenever and wherever they go."

That’s not all Verizon is putting on the table, it also noted that alongside the DVR streaming, FiOS Quantum TV also offers the opportunity for consumers to benefit from Verizon’s DVR system, which enables users to record up for up to 12 shows concurrently. Verizon also offers an HD recording capacity of up to 200 hours.
