Everyone has been waiting for the broad-sword wielding protagonist of Final Fantasy VII, Cloud Strife, to enter the brawl against the Nintendo's legendary fighters since it was confirmed in November and now, the wait has finally come to an end, with Cloud smashing his way to Super Smash Bros. 4 as Wii U and Nintendo 3DS downloadable content (DLC) beginning Dec. 15.

For $5.99, Cloud will be available as a DLC for Wii U and $5.00 for Nintendo 3DS, but if you have both consoles, you can have the character on both platforms for $6.99. Not only that, downloading Cloud will weave in Final Fantasy VII-inspired features into Smash Bros. 4 as well.

Cloud will have his usual attacks, specialized sword moves and high speed attacks in his limit break version but we're sure you'll agree that his final smash, the Omnislash, takes the cake for its sheer awesomeness. He also comes with his own special location, the Midgar stage, which you'll be able to recognize from Final Fantasy VII. What's special about this stage is that Summon Materia will appear and whichever player is able to acquire it can summon monsters that can change the terrain.

In the same announcement, Smash Bros. Director Masahiro Sakurai revealed that the witch Bayonetta is about to get wicked with her four guns by joining the brawl in February. She is also getting a special stage, the Umbra Clock Tower, which is a moving platform. On the same month, Corrin from the Fire Emblem series will also have a Smash Bros. debut. The announcement video revealed that Corrin can switch between male and female in the game.

The three newcomers to Super Smash Bros. 4 will also have their own Amiibo figurines, though no announcement has been made yet as to what kind of content the Amiibos would unlock and when it will be made available.
