Domino's is introducing a new high-tech delivery truck called the DXP, designed with a built-in pizza oven. The truck, which is a transformed version of the Chevy Spark, is expected to roll out to various large markets over the next several months, with the eventual goal being for every Domino's franchise to own at least one DXP.

Domino's has always been at the forefront of the latest technology when it comes to introducing new ways for customers to receive their pizza. The company introduced its famous and often-used pizza tracker on its website and app, which allows customers to follow their pizza's journey in real-time from preparation to oven to the delivery vehicle and ultimately, to their door.

Recently, Domino's introduced the ability for hungry customers to order their pizza or one of Domino's various other food offerings via text and Twitter, and even one-upped itself this year by adding the possibility of ordering by simply texting an emoji. Most recently, it also introduced a physical pizza panic button, which customers can press at the first onset of a pizza emergency.

Now, the company has turned its tech savvy toward its delivery vehicles and has come up with the DXP, a new delivery truck that includes its own 140-degree pizza-warming oven. The vehicle was created in part via a crowdsourcing contest and is based on the Chevy Spark. All the seats in the car have been removed in order to allow the most room for products. In addition to holding 80 pizzas, it has a dedicated cooling area for sodas and salads.

"The Domino's DXP is the first purpose-built vehicle aimed at revolutionizing pizza delivery," proclaimed Russell Weiner, Domino's U.S. president. "This innovation allows drivers to do their jobs with greater ease and efficiency, and demonstrates that Domino's is absolutely fanatical about making perfect deliveries."

Twenty-five U.S. markets, including Boston, Dallas, Detroit, Houston, Indianapolis, New Orleans, San Diego and Seattle, will begin receiving deliveries of the first 100 DXP vehicles, which cost $20,000 to $25,000, in the next 90 days, with the hope to eventually introduce the vehicle into every one of Domino's thousands of franchises across the U.S.
