OnePlus celebrates its second anniversary with an announcement of the imminent launch of an all-new OnePlus X Champagne edition to countries other than China.

The company confirmed that the new Champagne edition will first go on sale in Europe, while other markets will follow soon after. Users can expect to see the handset in versions of White and Gold.

"We'll be rolling out this white and gold version of the OnePlus X in Europe, with other markets to follow very soon," said OnePlus on a forum thread. "The Champagne edition will be sold during our weekly open sales on a first-come, first-served basis."

In case a consumer already has an invite for the OnePlus X, they can use it to get the new Champagne edition if they so prefer, and they're not limited to a certain day.

"Those already with OnePlus X invites can use them for a Champagne device any day," said OnePlus.

OnePlus X is built with a 5-inch full HD display that has a pixel resolution of 1,080 x 1,920. The handset is powered by Snapdragon 801 quad-core SoC of Qualcomm and features a RAM of 3 GB. Other impressive features include internal storage of 16 GB which can be expanded up to 128 GB through a microSD card, a 13 MP rear camera, an 8 MP front camera, dual SIM capability, various connectivity options such as Wi-Fi, LTE and 4G, and a non-removable 2,525 mAh battery.

On the software front, the smartphone is based on a customized Android 5.1.1 with style elements adhering to the new Material Design, and OnePlus teases a number of improvements on its Chinese site.

Formerly available as a China-exclusive handset, the OnePlus X Champagne edition is now listed on the company's site in China at CNY 1,499 (about $230).

OnePlus also revealed that a documentary is scheduled to be released in 2016, which will discuss the story of OnePlus and the journey it had taken so far.

"This story is ours to celebrate together, so hopefully you'll be as pumped to see it as we are. We're releasing the teaser today," said OnePlus.
