Interested in Star Wars and 3D printing? Well, then, this might just be the project for you. BB8BuildersClub user MontyBug has posted the build records of his 3D-printed model BB-8 droid from the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens film.

The project is made up of a number of different 3D-printed parts, and even has an Arduino board inside for things like the lights. Each piece is separately printed and then glued together. Unfortunately, the BB-8 doesn't roll around just yet, but MontyBug says that he's working on changing that.

The BB-8 Builders Club is a closed Facebook group that is, according to the page, dedicated to not building BB-8 (although judging by the name I would assume that they actually do want to build BB-8, they just don't want Lucasfilm to sue them ...). The project itself took around 900 hours to print the 100 parts.

You can check out the full series of build videos here, or some pictures of the project here.
