Earlier this month, the Jonas Brothers announced a cancelation of their tour due to a "deep rift within the band" and now it looks like things have hit a breaking point.

The mega popular pop rock band recently told People that they have decided to call it quits.

Speaking to the publication set for release this Friday, the brothers made these comments:

"It's over for now," said Kevin Jonas.

"It's really hard to say forever," says Nick. "We're closing a chapter, for sure."

"It was a unanimous decision," says Joe.

Rumors of a break-up had long been abound as Joe and Nick Jonas went to Twitter to make cryptic messages. Perhaps the most obvious evidence of the disbandment was the deactivation of the threesome's Twitter account @JonasBrothers.

Becoming on of pop music's biggest acts of the last decade, The Jonas Brothers hit teen stardom in the late-2000s after inking a deal with Disney's Hollywood Records. Though their debut studio album It's About Time was released in 2006, the trio's breakout project became 2008' A Little Bit Longer. Featuring the smash hits "Burnin' Up" and "Video Girl," A Little Bit Longer went to number one on the Billboard 200 selling 525,000 its first week. The next year's follow-up, Lines, Vines and Trying Times, would debut at number one. More recently, the band released new music through "Pom Poms" and "Fast Time" from a project that was reportedly in the works.

According to representative for the band Jesse Derris, the "deep rift within the band" stem from " a big disagreement over their music direction." That rift could be attributed to lifestyle and professional changes for Kevin, Joseph and Nicholas Jonas. Kevin has gone on to become a reality-television star with wife Danielle Deleasa which wrapped up its second season this year. Becoming more known for his much talked about relationship with Taylor Swift, Joseph released his debut album Fastlife in 2011 to subpar reviews and sales. Nicholas himself has made various television appearances on American Idol and Hawaii 5-0 among others.
