New Year's Eve is one of the most hazardous times to be on the road. With so many parties and events going on in different areas it's unavoidable to meet drunk drivers all around.
Whether you are headed home, a bar, a friend's house or downtown, there are many organizations that want people to be safe on New Year's Eve.
Here is a list of services offering free taxi, train and bus rides to help keep you safe during this day.
1. AMR Offering Free Rides In Jackson, Mississippi
If you are living in Jackson, Mississippi, you may want to take advantage of free rides AMR is offering to individuals around the metro area.
AMR will offer its six vans which can load up to 15 passengers each.
Note, though, that the vans will only take you to your home, not to another party venue.
Those who want to avail of the safe ride home should call (601) 368-2323 from 11 p.m. through 3 a.m.
2. OCTA Free Rides
Orange County Transporation Authority (OCTA) is once again offering free rides.
From 6 p.m. Thursday through 2:30 p.m. Friday, people will get rides, no strings attached.
3. Free Rides In Binghamton, New York
If you are staying in Broome County for the New Year's Eve, you can take advantage of free rides local law firm Schimmerling is offering.
You can dial 607-779-1000 if you want to avail of the promo, starting midnight to 8 a.m. on New Year's Day.
"This is the 19th year that Mr. Schimmerling has been offering this service in Broome County," says Chris Marion, Broome County Stop DWI coordinator.
4. Free Cab Rides In Beatrice, Nebraska
Yellow Cab of Beatrice is offering free rides between midnight up to 2:30 a.m. Friday.
Interested riders should call 402-806-2727.
Melissa Shandera, co-owner of Yellow Cab at Beatrice, says the free ride program began last year and "it seemed to work really well."
5. Free Cab Rides In Burlington and Plattsburgh
Thanks to local law firm Martin, Harding and Mazzoti, people in Burlington and Plattsburgh will enjoy free cab rides starting 10 p.m. Thursday until 2 a.m. Friday.
Just call 1-800-LAW-1010 and someone will schedule a cab for you.
You can also use of the MHM Taxi app to grab a cab.
6. Free Green Bay Bus Rides
Green Bay Metro is offering free bus rides on 13 bus routes beginning 3 p.m. Thursday through 3 a.m. Friday.
It is now the fourth year the city is teaming up with MillerCoors in its Miller Lite Free Rides program during the New Year's Eve.
"We'll pick you up and will get you safely (to a destination) and back," says Patty Kiewiz, the director of Green Day Transit.
7. CTA Free Rides
Good news to Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) riders: It offers free bus and train rides beginning 10 p.m. Thursday. It will continue until 4 a.m. Friday.
Again, thanks to MillerCoors' Miller Lite which has been sponsoring the free ride program for four years now.
8. Terre Haute, Indiana Free Rides
Terre Haute law firm Fleschner, Stark, Tanoos and Newlin, is partnering with E-2 Taxi to offer free rides.
Interested riders should call E-2 Taxi at 812-961-TAXI (8294) to avail of the promo. Don't forget to tell them you are using the Safe and Sober program.
Free cab rides are offered from 8 p.m. Thursday to 3 a.m. Friday.
9. Denver Area Free Rides
Between 7 p.m. Thursday and 12 a.m. Friday, riders in Denver can avail of free rides RTD is offering on its regular bus and train service and Access-a-Ride and SkyRide services.
The Sawaya Law Firm is also offering free rides. Those who are at least 21 years old can reimburse their cab rides from Dec. 31 to Jan. 3 as long as the bill is not more than $35. Just send the receipt and a copy of a valid ID.

10. Free Cab Rides in Topeka, Kansas
Kansans will get free rides courtesy of Yellow Cab of Topeka.
Free rides will commence from 8 p.m. Thursday through 4 a.m. Friday.

Note that the promo is limited to Topeka city limits.
11. Montgomery County Free Rides
The ArriveSafe program of the Montgomery County Prosecutors Office, in coordination with Heidelberg Distributing and AAA Miami Valley, will throw in free rides from noon Thursday to 6 a.m. Jan 3.
Those who want to request for free cab rides should call (937) 449-9999.
12. Metropolitan Transit Authority Free Rides
Riders of the Metropolitan Transit Authority can enjoy free train and bus rides from 6 p.m. Thursday until 6 a.m. Friday.
13. Free Cab Rides Courtesy Of Indiana Law Firms
A few law firms in Indiana will be paying for New Year's cab rides home to make people safe.
Stewart and Stewart is going to pay up to $20 in taxi rides from 10 p.m. Thursday until 4 a.m. Friday.
Evansville law firm, in the meantime, is also offering free rides but only in Evansville and Vanderburgh County from 11 p.m. Thursday to 4 a.m. Friday.
Travelers should arrange with Unity Taxi and inform its representatives that the law firm is paying for the bill.
